Safety Integrity Level Assessments
SIL (Safety Integrity Level) assessments
are now commonly used to define the
appropriate degree of reliability when using
instrumented systems to control and mitigate
hazards. Pöyry consultants have been involved with SIL assessments since their early development, and can bring this experience to:
- Chairing and facilitating SIL assessment meetings, quickly and efficiently
- Using proprietary and industry-standard reliability calculations and data to demonstrate that the engineered systems meet the required SIL target
Pöyry have also developed a software tool to bring the results of the SIL assessments into the control room to assist the assessment of risk when initiating overrides.
